What You Can Do Now

Water by the numbers

The average person uses about 160 gallons of water a day!

How much water do you use?

Toilet flush = 3 gallons

bath = 24 gallons

10 minute shower = 22 gallons

Brush teeth = 3 gallons

Load of wash = 40 gallons

Dishwasher = 9 gallons

Washing hands = 32 ounces (1/4 gallon)

Target one area, then concentrate on using less water.

What You Can Do for Tomorrow

To preserve the amount of clean fresh water available be aware of keeping pollutants out of the groundwater system by disposing of them properly.

All of these: Fertilizer, cleaners, motor oil, paints, pesticides and animal waste, pose a potential threat to our water if they are allowed to enter the ground water system.
